Rotherham United rising star, Joshua Kayode has moved on for another stage in the development of his career, as he will now play on loan at Chesterfield United in a short term contract.
Kayode leaves Super Eagles invitee, Semi Ajayi behind at Rotherham, who footballlive.ng gathered officially announced the loan deal taking him to Chesterfield on Thursday, and is heading for his English National League debut this weekend.
Chesterfield suggested that the fast, direct winger, who was born in Nigeria but raised in Republic of Ireland, will make his debut off the bench in Saturday’s league match against Gateshead at Proact Stadium.
Kayode penned his first professional contract with Rotherham United in November 2017, tying him to the club until the summer of 2020, and made his senior debut against Manchester City in the Checkatrade Trophy last season.
He will compete for a spot in attack with ex-Reading youth-team player, Gozie Ugwu, but the 18-year-old winger will remain at Chesterfield for just one month, as he is heading to his new base on a youth loan, subject to England’s FA ratification.
