Junior Lokosa Off To Ludogorets Of Bulgaria

Date:

Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokosa is bound to bound to kiss out on playing for the home-based Eagles against Atletico Madrid of Spain next week, as he is on his way to sign a deal with Ludogorets of Bulgaria.

The former First Bank FC of Lagos attacker, who netted his 18th goal of the season on Sunday, is the current top scorer in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), which put him in line for a senior national team call-up, but he is now off to Europe.

The deal with Ludogorets, though, comes in contrast with previous reports that he could join Enyimba of Aba, Al-Hilal of Sudan or Lokomotiv Plovdiv of Bulgaria.

This comes after Lokosa increased his goal haul for the season to 18 as Kano Pillars beat Katsina United 3-1 at Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday to reduce the gap between them and league leaders Lobi Stars to two points.

Lokosa opened scoring for the Sai Masu Gida in the eighth minute after he was set up by Nyima Nwagua, then turned provider for the same player to nod in his inch perfect cross for Pillars’ second goal of the game in the 37th minute.

Lokosa got his side’s third three minutes after the break, intercepting Frank Kappe’s back pass before firing past goalkeeper Dami Paul.

Lokosa is now five goals away from breaking the 23-goal mark set by Mfon Udoh in the 2013/2014 season, but his trip to Bulgaria may also stop him from enacting that feat.
