Kalu Is Our Replacement For Moses – Rohr

Date:

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he invited Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu to fill into the vacuum created by the sudden retirement of Chelsea star, Victor Moses.

Rohr admitted that Moses’ decision to retire came as a huge surprise to him, which is why he quickly moved to find an alternative player for the right wing, in order not to be caught unawares, footballlive.ng gathered.

Rohr, though, is alarmed that Moses has found the going tough at Cheslea since quitting the national; team, as the star is no longer a regular with The Blues, but says it is a situation everyone must accept.

While Rohr also admits Kalu is yet to fully hit the form Moses had been able to enact in the Eagles, the Franco-German tactician believes the former KAA Gent of Belgium youngster will soon meet up.

Rohr acknowledged that no two players apply the exact same style to their game, but insists Kalu is good and should be given enough time to settle down fully and show the stuff he is made of in the Nigerian squad.

The Eagles’ gaffer added: “(Moses’ decision to retire) did come as a surprise, but we had to accept it.

“He wanted to focus more on his family and club. He is only 27 and it really was a bit surprising, but we have to live with it.

”We tried to find a replacement for him and found Kalu from Bordeaux, who has done well so far.”
