A late return to his base in France by Super Eagles rookie, Samuel Kalu has left officials at his Ligue 1 club, Girondins-Bordeaux worried, according to the manager, Eric Bedouet.
Footballlive.ng can report that Bedouet was apprehensive up till late Thursday, as Kalu was yet to report back after lining out for the Eagles against South Afria and Uganda.
Kalu has scored once in ten league appearances for Bordeaux this season but they are without a win in their last five matches.
That has put a huge weight of responsibility on his shoulders to help lift the team from their current lowly 11th placed spot inb Ligue 1.
However, Kalu is now behind schedule in his return to training with the squad, as they prepare to face Dijon on Saturday, and may have to play without the soft-spoken winger, following his failure to return on time.
Though Bedouet did not make any categorical statement on what action the club would take against Kalu, a school of thought emerged that the former KAA Gent of Belgium winger could face sanctions.
However, the gaffer preferred to stay calm over the matter, despite going public with information that Kalu failed to failed to show up at Bordeaux’s training ground as at Thursday evening.
“We have no news, he should have been there. It’s a delayed return of to the team,” Bedouet said.
