Kano Pillars Get Charge For Better NPFL Season

Date:

Kano Pillars have received a strong charge for better form and results in the coming season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Footballlive.ng reports that the charge came from the club’s chairman, Alhaji Tukur Babangida, after he dolled out a largess of N500,000 to the team for their conquest of the pre-season Ahlan Cup last weekend.

Babangida said he was happy to see the side win the competition back-to-back, but admonished the players and coaches not to rest on their oars, as he wants them to do well in the coming season of the NPFL.

Pillars retained the Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament after they beat Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 2-1 in the final at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Abdullahi Musa struck early for Wikki, before Kano Pillars fought back to win with goals by Ali Mallam and Hassan Adamu.

Wikki beat Niger Tornadoes 2-1 to reach the Final, while Pillars smashed past Rarara FC 4-1.
A midfielder in the winning team, Ali Mallam scooped both the MVP and top scorers’ award after he netted five goals.
