Kano Pillars Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, remains optimistic about his team’s ability to recover lost points as they prepare to face Lobi Stars at the Lafia City Stadium.
On Sunday, Kano Pillars played out an exciting 2-2 draw against Heartland FC at the newly refurbished Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, in a Match Day 12 fixture of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Club legend Rabiu Ali and Ahmed Musa found the net for Sai Masu Gida, delivering a spectacle for fans witnessing the team’s first home game of the season.
The match also marked a historic moment for the four-time Nigerian champions, as they returned to their home ground following extensive renovations by the Kano State Government.
Speaking after the encounter, Abdallah praised Heartland’s resilience and lauded their coach, Emmanuel Amunike, for earning a hard-fought point.
“We are a team that enjoys playing both home and away. With the 7 points we’ve already picked on our away trips, I’m confident we can recover the points dropped today when we face Lobi Stars,” Abdallah said.
With the draw, Kano Pillars slipped to 6th on the league table with 18 points from 12 matches, leaving them five points adrift of league leaders Remo Stars.
Abdallah and his squad will now aim to bounce back as they prepare for their next game against Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
