Former Super Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu has added another dimension to all glitter and hype trailing Nigeria’s World Cup jersey and native attire the players wore into Russia 2018, with a view that it means they must also be eye catching during all their matches.
Consequently, ‘Papilo’ charged the Eagles players to justify all the razzmatazz, as they get set for their first match on Saturday, with a verdict that wearing the best jersey means the team will have to play the best football.
The Eagles will be making their sixth appearance at the World Cup in Russia, where they will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in Group D.
The Nigerian team will kick off their campaign against Croatia on Saturday, ahead of which ‘Papilo’ says the squad must now justify all hype and accolades heralding their arrival in Russia.
Kanu, who represented Nigeria at three World Cups, France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010, urged the players to go and do the country proud at Russia 2018.
He stated: “The Super Eagles our dear team are in Russia and the boys are ready. No stopping, KAN U Believe?
“it’s all about believe, believe, believe, I believe, do you believe? Let’s all support pray and give them all that will make them do us proud because I know one day Eagles will make us proud like papilo.
“We can do it. Come on boys go and tell the world who we are. Best jersey and best football.”
