Following the victory of the U17 team over Ghana in the just concluded Wafu B under 17 AFCON qualifying tournament in Niger, former minister of sports Engr Bala Kaoje has praised the efforts of the team and the technical crew for clinching the sole ticket to Tanzania.
He said that the Golden Eaglets performance at the tournament showed that they will go places.
He urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to immediately begin preparations for the U17 AFCON tournament without delay.
“The boys were fearless and determined in their approach to all the games they played in Niger Republic,” Kaoje began in a chat with Footballlive.ng.
“I will like to congratulate them for defeating Ghana in the final which was keenly contested. Football isn’t an easy game. Winning against a team like Ghana shoes that the Golden Eaglets did something right.”
“My advice to the NFF is to ensure that these boys are kept together for the 2019 U17 Nations Cup. They need to begin preparations as soon as possible,” he added.
