Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine striker, Olarewaju Kayode is relishing his return to action at the weekend, as he finally lined out for his club after a four-month bout with injury.
The fitness issues saw Kayode miss UEFA Champions League action with Shakhtar last week, much to the striker’s disdain, but he is now excited with opportunities lying ahead of him.
Information reaching footballlive.ng reveals that Kayode stormed back into action from a long-term injury and helped the Ukrainian Premier League double champions to a 3-0 win against Chernomorets Odessa.
The former Austria Wien top scorer was introduced in the 71st minute and almost got a goal three minutes later, but Odessa’s goalkeeper stopped his goal-bound effort.
The ex-youth international, who has previously played for ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire and Maccabi Netanya of Israel, was out of action for four months due to injury.
Kayode’s last game before this one was a 2-0 loss at Dynamo Kiev on May 19, but he has now fully recovered, as he declared on social media: “No more worries over injury.”
