Olufemi Kayode believes Akwa United will offer the biggest threat to Lobi Stars’ hopes of winning the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title for the second time in history.
The Pride of Benue are on top of the NPFL table with 43 points and 14 more matches to wrap up the season.
Goalkeeper Kayode is tipping his former team to challenge the Pride of Benue for the title.
He told Footballlive.ng: “Akwa United will be our biggest threat. They always will be, they’re very good.
“We are cool with them but we have competition with them. It’s fun to compete against them. I think they will be second behind us,” he smiled.
“Of course people expect us to do well because we’re on top. I think people expect us to maintain our good form and wrap up the title.
“When you’ve won it once you want to win it more. We have the right mentality and good dynamic because we hungry for success.
“Since we are on top we don’t want to come down. So we want to continue that for as long as possible because the mentality is high.”
