Sevilla manager, García Pimienta has hinted that Kelechi Iheanacho may not start in their upcoming La Liga clash against Real Valladolid on Tuesday.
The Nigerian striker, who joined Sevilla during the summer transfer window, has struggled for game time since his arrival, with just one start and three substitute appearances so far this season.
Amid speculation that Iheanacho could see more minutes after first-choice striker Isaac Romero suffered an injury in Sevilla’s recent 2-1 loss to Alavés, Pimienta revealed that the 27-year-old may still find himself on the bench as he has a number of attacking options available.
“I don’t rule anyone out. Up front we have Isaac, Iheanacho, Lukebakio, Peque… We have solutions in the first team.”
“Collado will be called up, he hasn’t played with us and I wanted him to play with the reserve team. He played for 45 minutes at an excellent level.”
Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to make an impact at Sevilla, and Pimienta remains unconvinced of his ability to lead the attack.
