Another Nigerian player is on the way towards a national team career with England, as Chelsea’s kid goalkeeper, Kelechi Chibueze has been invited to the under-16 national team in Queensland.
Footballlive.ng can report that the latest kid to get a tempting chance to snub Nigeria in future is is set to add to his international caps after he was invited by England for the Val-de-Marne Tournament.
Chibueze was part of Chelsea’s under-16 side that lost to Manchester City in the final of the Premier League International Tournament on October 21 but the kid, who was born December 2003, is waxing hot.
He was a non-playing substitute in England’s opening match of the Val-de-Marne Tournament against hosts France on Tuesday, but the coach, Kevin Betsy sees Chibueze as a bright prospect.
Chibueze will now hope to be picked ahead of Reading goalkeeper, Coniah Boyce-Clarke when England face Austria on November 1 and then battle Japan on November 3, after first beating France 3-1.
