Coach Ken Chukwu of Rivers United has shared his reaction as his side lost 2-0 away at Abia Warriors. The Port Harcourt based side are now winless in their last five league games, and sit 12th on the log.
The gaffer said that his team held well in the first half, but admitted they were overpowered by their opposition in the second half. He mentioned that the accumulation of games has caused fatigue and is affecting the team, but they would keep marching on game by game.
In his exact words, he said:
“First 45 minutes goaless, second 45 minutes, we lost the game. In a game situation, we’ll give it to Abia Warriors. When the game changes, fatigue comes in. You can imagine the number of matches are played over time. But our team is a champion team, our team is a continental team, it’s not the team that complains. Rivers United don’t complain. We take the game as we see it. We go home, we tighten all loose areas and we correct it”.
