Kwara United Adds 17 New Players to Existing Squad

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club side, Kwara United, unveils 17 new players in Ilorin as they prepare for the 2024/25 season.

These players will join 18 returning members of the squad.

Among the new recruits are Ifeanyi Ogba, a former Rangers International forward, Oyeleso Suraj, an experienced goalkeeper from Plateau United, and Akani Akeem from Sporting Lagos.

During the unveiling ceremony, General Manager Bashir Badawy, representing the club chairman, revealed the club’s careful recruitment process.

He explained that Kwara United scouted talent in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa states to ensure a good mix of youth and experience.

“We undertook tours in Ikenne in Ogun, Lagos and Bayelsa states just so we could pick the right blend of players for the season.”

“As you have seen from the players, we the right blend of ages, parading young and experienced footballers,” Badawyi said.

“We hardly concede goals. We have beaten top rated clubs including Al Merikkh of Sudan, a continental giant.”

“We still have days to spare in our training schedule and I can assure you that the boys will be ready to fire on all cylinders as soon as the league commences,” he said.
