Kenneth Omeruo was in action for the 17th time in the colours of Leganes, as they lost 3-0 to Real Sociedad in the La Liga Santander on Saturday night.
The Nigerian central defender was handed a starting role and lasted the entire match duration. The on-loan Chelsea defender has now made 17 league appearances and earned four bookings for Leganes this term.
Omeruo wasn’t booked in the game played in front of 22,997 fans at the Estadio Anoeta.
The home team showed their strength, launching attack after attack towards the Leganes goal, led by frontmen Adnan Januzaj and Mikel Oyarzabal.
It was not until the second half that the hosts finally took the lead but it was full of depth and rhythm as Leganes were not looking like themselves.
Januzaj teed up Oyarzabal for the first of his two goals in the 50th minute. Less than ten minutes later, he helped Sociedad go 2-0 up.
Not long after the second goal, Anoeta erupted again as Willian Jose added a third.
Leganes now sit in 12th place in the La Liga Santander table with 29 points.
