Ladan Bosso, the newly appointed head coach of Bayelsa United, has set a clear goal for his tenure: to lead the team back to continental competitions. This marks Bosso’s second stint with the Yenagoa-based club, having previously managed them in 2012 when he guided them to a third-place finish.
Bosso is determined to surpass his previous achievement with Bayelsa United. The team ended the last season in 15th place, narrowly avoiding relegation. The experienced coach believes that his extensive experience, including his time serving the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), will be instrumental in elevating Bayelsa United’s performance.
“I remember that during my first stint, we managed to secure a continental ticket and finished the league in third place,” Bosso recalled. “This time around, I aim to improve on that and justify the terms of my contract. With the experience I have gathered over the years, I believe we can correct past mistakes and achieve greater success.”
Bosso has a rich coaching history in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), having managed several clubs including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, Abia Warriors, and El-Kanemi Warriors. His return to Bayelsa United brings hope and high expectations for the team’s future.
As he takes on this new challenge, Bosso is focused on building a stronger squad and implementing strategies that which led to the sacking of old head coach, Teibowei Diepriyie.
