Leicester City have congratulated their Nigerian players, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi, Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho for making the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Leicester sent the congratulatory message to Ndidi, Iheanacho and Musa in reaction to the Eagles’ 23-man squad that was made public by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Sunday.
Ndidi and Iheanacho’s inclusion in the Eagles’ squad means they will be making their debut at the FIFA World Cup, while Musa, who is on loan at CSKA Moscow of Russia, is out for his second.
Musa got his World Cup debut at Brazil 2014, during which he scored twice in a 3-2 group stage loss to Argentina.
Musa and Iheanacho were in action for the Eagles in their 2-1 loss to England in Nigeria’s second to last build-up friendly game at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, while Ndidi is in the last stage of his recovery from injury and was an unused substitute.
