Leicester City have come out with their technical verdicts of the two Nigerian players in their squad, as The Foxes hailed Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi for his battling performance in a 2-1 loss to Everton, while noting that Kelechi Iheanacho had some great touches on the ball.
However, footballlive.ng can also report that Leicester had some knocks for both players, as the technical report cited that it was not the best performance from the often reliable Ndidi, while Iheanacho did not have any telling impact on the evening.
The other side of the verdict could explain why Ndidi and Iheanacho could not save their team from going down on Saturday at King Power Stadium, as The Foxes suffered a shock home defeat by The Toffees.
Iheanacho and Ndidi started for Leicester, while Everton kept Ademola Lookman on their bench for all 90 minutes, while Ndidi played the full game.
Richarlison volleyed home from close range to put The Toffees ahead in the 7th minute, only for Ricardo Pereira to level five minutes before half time with an assist from Iheanacho.
Leicester manager, Claude Puel was, however, forced to change his formation and sacrificed Iheanacho, after Wes Morgan was sent off in the 63rd minute.
While Ndidi was, however, granted six points out of 10 for his efforts, Iheanacho was rated higher at 8/10 by the technical buffs at Leicester.
Leicester wrote of Ndidi viz, “Not his best game in possession but still battled;” Iheanacho’s assessment read: “Had a few bright touches but didn’t have a major impact on the game.”
That, though, was in stark contrast with an independent analysis that gave Ndidi 7/10 while Iheanacho was rated 4/10.
While both players will now turn their attention on national team duty this Saturday, they will also have at the back of their minds how do better when they return to England, as The Foxes’ next English Premier League match is away to Arsenal.
