Libya Shift AFCON Qualifier Vs Nigeria To Tunisia

Date:

Libya have taken another dramatic step in their preparations for the October 13 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home with Nigeria, as footballlive.ng gathered that the North African country has now shifted the game to Tunisia.

The Libyan soccer governing body had initially opted for Algeria as match venue, as against Cairo, Egypt, whey they bear Seychelles 5-1 to kick start their campaign, but they have suddenly opted for Tunisia as their next venue.

Though the Libyan team’s coach, Adel Lamouche had been banking on support from his country at his former club base in Algeria to boost his side’s chances against Nigeria, the soccer body has taken a different angle to their choice of match venue.

Consequently, The Mediterranean Knights’ home battle with the Super Eagles will no longer hold at Omar Hamadi Stadium in Algeria, as Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has decided to match day four AFCON 2019 Group E qualifier will hold in Tunis.

Although no stadium has been named for the game, it is likely to be staged at Stade Chedly-Zouiten, which is said to convey memories of the arena in Cairo that hosted Libya’s opener against Seychelles on June 9, 2017.
