Liverpool of England are reportedly ready to release former youth international striker, Taiwo Awoniyi and €13m to snatch injury-prone Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon from KAA Gent of Belgium.
Details of the report out of Anfield indicate that The Reds have stepped up their interest in Simon, and are ready for a swap deal that would see Awoniyi move in the opposite direction for the former SK Trencin of Slovakia star.
Talks are already said to be well advanced between both clubs with Simon who missed out on selection for the Nigerian team to the World Cup due to injury back in Belgium as the move draws near.
Left with a year to run on his current deal with Gent, Simon is available at a cut price of €13m, a price Liverpool are trying to bargain by possibly sending Awoniyi on loan to Gent.
Awoniyi scored 11 goals for modest Belgium side Mouscron last season and, though he is due to sign a contract extension at Liverpool, the Merseyside club still want him to spend another season on loan to a team preferably in the Europa League.
However, Awoniyi will likely be part of the deal for Simon, as Gent are also keen on acquiring him, though Anderlecht and Club Brugge are also interested in having the 20-year-old on loan for next season.
