Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokosa has declared that he is eager to get his first game with the Super Eagles, and believes it could come in Monday’s clash with DR Congo in Port Harcourt.
Lokosa has put behind the early blushes they saw him flop in his first training with the Eagles in Uyo and, now that he has settled down fully in camp, he is thinking big of his full senior debut.
The former First Bank FC of Lagos striker said he is looking forward to making his debut in Monday’s international friendly encounter against The Leopards.
Lokosa has enjoyed a fine season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), where he has netted 18 times for Sai Masu Gida in 20 matches which prompted his inclusion in the 30-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The game against Florent Ibenge’s side provides the first big opportunity for the forward to stake his claim for a place in the final 23-man squad for the World Cup, and Lokosa is eager to take it.
He declared with glee: ”I can’t wait to play my first game for the Super Eagles. It’s has been my ambition right from when I started playing football and it’s very close now.
“The atmosphere in camp is great and it’s been a wonderful experience for me. The old guys have help me to settle down well.
“We are all looking forward to the game against DR Congo on Monday and I hope I will get the chance to play.”
