Kano Pillars inform striker, Junior Lokosa is set to get an invitation to the home-based Eagles for their upcoming friendly against Atletico Madrid at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on May 22.
Though players in the main Eagles are also expected to open camp in Abuja on May 21, national team gaffer, Gernot Rohr has already declared that the home-based squad will do battle against Atletico, and Lokosa, who is current top scorer in the league, is expected to be among the invitees.
Lokosa is also expected to be in Nigeria’s provisional squad to be announced on May 14, after Rohr said he is prepared to give Nigeria Professional Football League hot shot a look for the last phase of preparations towards the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The former First Bank FC of Lagos player, with 16 goals to his credit this season, has been in fine form and observers believe he could be a good option in attack for Rohr.
Rohr revealed: “We will have a look at him. He has been scoring goals. He has been observed by Salisu.”
