Super Eagles and Atalanta star Ademola Lookman has crowned his fantastic week by being named in the UEFA Europa League Team of the Season and winning the Goal of the Season Award.
The Super Eagles winger had an outstanding performance against Bayer Leverkusen, becoming only the third Nigerian to score in a Europa League final and the first African to score a hat-trick in a major UEFA competition final.
The Europa League Best XI, selected by the UEFA Technical Observer panel, included Lookman alongside his teammates Granit Xhaka and Jeremie Frimpong.
The 26-year-old’s impressive performance earned him Player of the Week honours with One of his goals also chosen as the Goal of the Season, further cementing his place in the Europa League Team of the Season.
Lookman is being tipped by fans and his teammates to win the CAF Player of the Year award after his stellar performances on the big stage.
With the Super Eagles playing their qualifiers next month, Lookman has been called up by new coach Finidi George as Nigeria prepares to qualify for the World Cup, having missed out on Qatar 2022.
