Lukman Haruna Starts Trials In Macedonia

Date:

Korea 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning captain, Lukman Haruna (Apache) has commenced trials at FK Vardar Skopje of Macedonia.

After failing to bag a deal with RC Lens of France, following time with the team on trial, the former Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine midfielder is hoping to relaunch his career in Macedonia.

Once rated as one of the top prospects in Nigeria, 27-year-old, Haruna has unsuccessfully tried to bring his career back to light since leaving Dynamo Kiev, following the expiration of his deal at the club.

A stint with Anzhi in Russia and Astana in Kazakhstan all faired to provide the spark needed to bring his career back on track, after a botched effort to sign for French second division side Lens in the summer.

Haruna, who represented Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, has been training in Nigeria since his failed attempt to bag a deal with Lens.

A decision on his potential signing is expected to be made in the coming days, but only after he must have proved himself in test games with the team who are currently placed second on the log in the Prva Liga in Macedonia.
