Josh Maja has described his first goal for West Bromwich Albion, as a big moment, despite their 2-1 loss to Leicester City in an English Championship clash at the Hawthorns.
Maja found the back of the net in the 89th minute of the match, his goal briefly restored parity for West Brom, but a late Harry Winks strike secured the points for Leicester City.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward joined West Brom in the summer, and his goal against Leicester City marked his first since his move to the club.
Maja had faced challenges with form and injuries, making this goal a moment of relief.
“It was a big moment for me to get my first goal for the club. Hopefully, it’s the first of many,” he told West Brom’s website.
“I was grateful to get more minutes and I want to show everyone what I can do and play my part in helping this club win games.
“We can’t get too disheartened by this result because we went toe-to-toe with Leicester City.”
