Majin Mohammed, the head coach of Niger Tornadoes, expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in their recent victory against Bayelsa United, describing it as “wonderful.” The Ikon Allah Boys secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
The decisive goal came in the second half, courtesy of Ikechukwu Nwani’s strike, which earned the visitors maximum points in the game.
Mohammed praised his players for their commendable effort and resilience on the field, especially considering the pressure of the situation. He emphasized the importance of the victory in helping the team climb out of the relegation zone.
In a post-match interview, Mohammed highlighted the significance of the win, particularly after dropping points at home and facing the threat of relegation. He commended the players for their determination and emphasized the need to maintain such performances in upcoming matches.
“Very wonderful, having realised that we lost points at home and we are in danger, the only way is to put up a good fight, they did and got out of the danger,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We prepared for it, and you know in a game of football, anything can happen, If Rangers can come to Kaduna and beat us two nil, we can equally do the same on the road, so we are not surprised.
“It means there is hope for the team, if we can continue like this, the sky will be our limit.”
The coach also expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, stating that the win against Bayelsa United demonstrated their potential and ability to compete effectively. He encouraged the players to continue working hard and building on the positive momentum gained from the victory.
Niger Tornadoes’ victory has provided renewed hope and confidence for the team as they strive to secure their position in the league standings and avoid relegation, the danger of which they have temporarily moved out of.
