Malaga of Spain have come out with more information about the factors that led to their decision to offer Tianjin Teda of China want-away striker, Aide Brown Ideye a loan deal, as the modest La Liga side believe his energy and experience will come in handy for their squad.
Ideye is the second Nigerian, after Victor Obinna Nsofor, to star for Malaga, and the Spanish side disclosed in a media stamen heralding his six-month deal that he has shown immense power and gained experience playing in six top European football leagues.
Ideye has played in the past for Neuchâtel Xamax of Switzerland, Sochaux of France, Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, West Bromwich Albion of England and Olympiakos.
He, however, joined Tianjin Teda from Olympiakos in a bid to get more game time could also not manage to hold down a regular shirt, but his plans soon went awry.
The 29-year-old Ideye lost his first team spot at Tianjin Teda and was demoted to the B team of the club following the signing of Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong.
A move to Malaga will help him regain his spot in the Nigeria national team ahead of the start of preparations for the World Cup in Russia later in the year.
With five months to the start of the World Cup in Russia and his chances of making the Super Eagles squad getting slimmer, Ideye will hope that his recent move will be the game changer
A statement on the club’s website read:”Málaga CF has secured Brown Ideye on loan until the end of the season from the Chinese Tianjin Teda.
“The striker has already passed the relevant medical examination at the Vithas Salud Rincon Medical Center Rosaleda.”
Afterwards, Ideye took to his social media to announce the move, saying he is happy with the chance to play in one of world soccer’s biggest leagues..
“So happy to have signed for @malagacf on loan in one of the biggest leagues in the world, i enjoyed my time at @tianjinteda and i want to thank the management and fans.
“Now onto a new chapter of La Liga, Big thanks to everyone who make this possible for me I’m Grateful, i can’t wait to get started! #thankful,” Ideye stated.
