What are the chances your team lose on a UCL night to a side with a 8 percent win ratio in all competitions; after 20 matches, you score an own goal and get trolled for a now infamous facial expression?
You have to be Phil Jones, Manchester United’s center back at the butt of one of Michy Batshuayi’s social media banter.
The Chelsea loanee at Valencia played all 90 minutes as they inflicted Manchester United with a 2-1 defeat at the Mestalla Stadium on Wednesday night.
Jones was busy on the night as the Valencia attackers mounted pressure on United’s defence and the persistence of the hosts paid off when the England international turned the ball into his own net from almost 25 yards out.
The morning after, 26-year-old Jones continued trending with help from Batshuayi, who threw a dig at a picture of the English man’s screwed up look during the game.
Batshuayi was commended for his Batman logo art on his matchday boots, but the Belgian was more interested in Jones’ countenance.
The Valencia striker tweeted: Glad you like guys… but can we talk about Phil Jones face first ? ???? #anotherone
