Former Flamingoes assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi has backed defending champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria to win next month’s African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana.
The Super Falcons are currently in Epe for the first phase of camping for the biggest women’s football competition in Africa.
Mansur Abdullahi, who managed Olga Queens and Bayelsa Queens in the past believes the Super Falcons have depth in quality to conquer Africa for the ninth time.
“I think we have a good team and a competent coach and so there is no cause for alarm at all,” Mansur Abdullahi told Footballlive.ng.
“These are players who are playing regularly for top clubs home and abroad.
“They are active players with massive potential to become champions. I have no doubt in my mind that they will succeed in Ghana.
“All that they require from Nigerians is support and prayers.
The Super Falcons are drawn in pool B where they will battle South Africa, Zambia and Kenya.
