Golden Eaglets Manager, Manu Garba has challenged to his players to show that they deserve to play for Nigeria when they face Cote d’Ivoire in their second Group B match of the 2019 U17 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers on Thursday.
The Eaglets failed to qualify for the last edition of the competition.
Manu Garba’s boys lost 3-2 to Burkina Faso in their opening Group B match at the CAF U17 AFCON Qualifiers (WAFU B) in Niamey.
”All these players need to convince the technical team that they can play and we can rely on them whenever the situation arises,” Manu Garba told Footballlive.ng.
”We play Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday and it is an important one for us, it is an ideal platform for us to win. “
.
“[Players] must show that they deserve to play for Nigeria and the team as well.”
The coach added that he is aiming to win and will line up his players to bring the Baby Elephants down on Thursday.
“Victory will surely be a good omen for us in the tournament. So victory will be the ultimate plan as well and the players are at the moment responding well to my ideas. The players are willing to learn and fit in and that is good,” said.
