Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins (Obagol) ias said to be making speedy recovery from an injury that ruled him out of any possibility of gate-crashing into Nigeria’s World Cup team.
Though the injury wrecked Oba’s dramatic late surge of scoring form, the striker is not thinking of hanging his boosts just yet, as sources close to the former Inter Milan prodigy says he is eager to keep playing in China.
Before then he was scoring goals in China and his name was widely linked with a comeback to the Eagles after his last appearance in 2015 in Swaziland.
Sadly, the former Newcastle United star then raptured his tendon ligaments early month in action for Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shensua.
He underwent successful surgery in England and he will now be out for the rest of the year, but he is already making good progress on his way back to full fitness.
“Martins rehabilitation is going very well, very fine,” one of his friends disclosed.
