Nigeria stand the chance of shooting up the FIFA monthly rankings with victories in their forthcoming treble of international friendlies, as observers believe the odds in May will add up heading into the World Cup.
Consequently, the Eagles will hope to improve on their latest FIFA Ranking of 47th in the world after forthcoming friendlies against better rated teams England, Czech Republic and DR Congo.
However, the 2018 World Cup qualifiers will hope to move up with a good result against DRC, who are rated 35th in the world, on May 28 in Port Harcourt.
They also hope to improve their rankings after a high-profile game against 13th-ranked England at Wembley on June 2.
The Eagles will have yet another chance to enhance their ranking when they play a final World Cup friendly in Austria against Czech Republic, who are ranked 45th in the world.
The Eagles World Cup Group D foes are also better rated – Argentina (5), Croatia (18), Iceland (22).
