Carpi of Italy striker, Jerry Mbakogu was among the thrill makers last weekend in the Azzurri nation’s lower division league, Serie B, as his goal inspired the modest side to a 2-1 victory against Spezia.
The 25-year old striker, who had been in awe-inspiring form for the Biancorossi in the Italian second tier, scored his sixth goal of the league season, then laid on the match winner for his teammate later on.
Mbakogu powered in the opener after 69 minutes of the tie on Saturday afternoon, prodding home a right footed shot from close range following a set piece situation.
He would then set up Federico Melchiorri with a deft assist in the 78th minute to clinch all three points after Spezia had rallied back to equalise in the 72nd minute.
With his further two efforts in the Coppa Italia, Mbakogu has now scored a total eight times for Carpi in 20 appearances this season.
He will again aim more heroics when Carpi play away to Salernitana in their next domestic encounter on Saturday.
