A twelve year relationship that as seen the Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and MFM FC progress from the Nationwide League One to play in 2018 CAF Champions League season might be coming to an end very soon as sources close to the Nigeria U-23 Assistant Coach informed Footballlive that the Coach would not be extending his stay with the Prayer Boys.
Speaking to www.footbllive.ng a reliable source said, “Coach Ilechukwu would not stay beyond the end of the current season. I can tell you authoritatively that he really enjoyed his 12 years with the club especially working with the fatherly figure of Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire And Miracle Ministry but the truth is that he needs a new challenge to progress his own career.”
On when the Coach was likely to submit his resignation to the club hierarchy, the source said, “Coach Fidelis is a man of very high dignity and integrity so he was never going leave until the last official match MFM FC had been played in the 2018 Nigeria Football Season.”
footballive in trying to verify the calm spoke exclusively to the MFM FC Technical Adviser who said, “For now I am still with MFM FC. Regardless of where I am next season MFM FC would be in my heart because working with my father [Dr. Daniel Olukoya] for twelve years was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every moment and as well MFM FC are a big team who with or without Fidelis Ilechukwu next season would still do very well.”
Several NPFL Clubs are already laying wait for a final decision from arguably one of Nigeria finest home grown coaches but it is very unlikely that he would start the 2018/2019 NPFL Abridge League as Technical Adviser of the Prayer Boys.
