Mfon Udoh Denies Enyimba Suspension, Insists ‘They lied’

Date:

The Enyimba FC versus Mfon Udoh saga has taken a new twist after the embattled Aba Elephants’ skipper (Udoh) told footballlive.NG that he was “shocked” to read the club’s tweet of the letter which supposedly suspended him indefinitely.

According to him, the post by Enyimba on social media of his ‘suspension for gross misconduct’ was a concocted afterthought. Udoh questioned why the letter appeared soon after he had announced his departure from the club.

‘That tweet is a pure lie! I did not receive any letter, they back-dated what they posted to suit their lies,’ he maintained.

Indeed, Enyimba announced Udoh was suspended for indiscipline till further notice in a letter to the forward dated September 7 and signed by club chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu via an official tweet.
However, the embattled player has now revealed his utter disbelief following the post. According to him, the letter was simply back-dated to suit their lies.

Interestingly, Udoh has now challenged the management of the Aba Elephants to come out publicly to prove their claims with a signed copy of the same letter acknowledging receipt.
‘I can challenge them to come out publicly with their acknowledgment copy if they sent me such a letter of suspension,’ He added.

On Friday afternoon, the contingent of Enyimba players and officials departed for Kigali in Rwanda from Lagos without Udoh. They face Rayon Sports on Sunday in the 1st leg of the CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinal.
