It is no longer a news that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked to a move to Chelsea for months. However, the €130 million release clause in his contract has being a major hindrance in completing the move.
The 25-year-old requested to leave his Italian club, Napoli earlier this month at the end of the summer transfer window. Osimhen’s move to Stamford Bridge could involve Romelu Lukaku heading to Italy as part of the deal.
Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has revealed that he and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba are actively trying to convince Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea this summer.
The blues legend believes Victor Osimhen will be a perfect fit and the missing rib in Chelsea’s attack.
“We want somebody who can finish, score goals, the tap-ins. Someone like Erling Haaland. That’s something Victor Osimhen will bring to Chelsea,” Mikel said.
“I’ll make sure I send him those text messages and calls, making sure Chelsea is his top priority!” he added.
“We all want to see Victor come to the club.”
