The former Chelsea star who joined the Chinese side Tianjin Teda in January 2017 on a three-year contract as a free agent has had his contract terminated few days back with a year to spare.
Last season, Mikel’s appearances were less due to injuries challenges faced during the season.
It was known that his team Tianjin Teda narrowly escaped relegation form the Chinese Super League last season .
It could be recalled that In 2013, he was valued on the transfer market at 23 million Euros while plying his trade with Chelsea FC in the EPL.
