Super Eagles stars have praised the female national basketball team, D’Tigress after they defeated Argentina today in the last group game of the FIBA women’s World Cup.
In what turned out to look like a revenge for the defeat the Super Eagles suffered at World Cup when they lost to Argentina in the final group game, D’Tigress defeated Argentina by 75-70 points to qualify second place in their group.
Speaking with footballlive.ng, the Super Eagles stars commended the girls and urged them to put more effort to dominate the world. Onazi said, winning against a side like Argentina who are also a strong country in the game of Basketball means our girls are good enough to beat any side.
Nigeria had earlier lost their opening game to Australia 86-68 points before they defeated Turkey 74-68 points in the second game. The win against Argentina takes Nigeria to the next phase of the competition.
