Tianjin Teda of China midfielder, John Mikel Obi has promised that he and his colleagues in the Super Eagles will work harder and give better focus on the World Cup during all training sessions at their new base in Austria.
The Eagles captain said he and his teammates have put behind them Saturday’s 2-1 loss away to England, and says they are now determined more than ever to work harder in order to correct all mistakes, as they enter the last lap of preparations for the Mundial.
The former Chelsea star admitted the Eagles were poor in the first half against The Three Lions, but stepped up their game after the interval.
However, Mikel further pledged that the Eagles will be totally focused in their final training camp in Austria leading up to the World Cup.
“The first half (on Saturday) wasn’t good, but in the second half we pressed a lot higher, we created chances and we scored.
“We have to be totally focused in Austria, train harder, morning and afternoon and try to correct our mistakes. We need time to train well together.
“We need to be strong as a team, we need to be together, just as we did in the qualifiers,” Mikel submitted.
