Soufiane Rahimi led Morocco to a historic 6-0 victory over Egypt, securing the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This is the first time a North African country will win a medal in Olympics football.
Rahimi scored a brace while Morocco’s other goals came from Abde Ezzalzouli, Bilal El Khannouss, Akram Nakach, and Achraf Hakimi.
Rahimi finished the tournament as the top scorer with eight goals. Morocco, inspired by its senior team’s surprise World Cup semifinal run in 2022, was supported by fans throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, Egypt recorded its third fourth-place Olympic finish, having previously done so in 1928 and 1964.
