Moses’ Goal Earns Praise From Fabregas

Date:

Chelsea right-wing-back, Victor Moses has earned words of praise from one of his club mates, Cesc Febregas, who showered applause on the Super Eagles star for scoring from his pass in the match against West Bromwich Albion.

Fabregas was delighted to see Moses make the best of his effort and ensure the pass turned into an assist, which marked The Blues’ second goal in Monday’s 3-0 spanking of West Brom at Stamford Bridge.

It was the second goal by Moses this season for Chelsea, also second ever against The Baggies, after 10 years, and the winger-turned-right-wing-back stated afterwards that he felt very nice getting another bull’s eye to his name.

Moses, who did a double backflip to celebrate his goal, came through with the second of the night assisted by Fabregas and the Eagles star could not hold back his excitement.

Moses fed off of Fabregas’ assist to deliver the second goal at the 63rd minute and the Spanish footballer has taken to his Instagram page to react to the goal.

The goal by Moses was complemented by Eden Hazard’s brace to seal a comfortable victory for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, to gain [plaudits on social media from Febregas and Chelsea fans.

It came on a night when Moses started for The Blues at Stamford Bridge in the encounter, to mark his 19th appearance in the division this season.

West Brom did well to quell most of the attacking forays from the hosts and could have even gone ahead themselves after Moses had misplaced a header, with Jay Rodriguez dragging his shot wide of target.

Moses doubled Chelsea’s lead after the restart, after prancing through the right flank to play in Fabregas, who returned the favour with a flick and the Nigerian did well to finish underneath Ben Forster.

Moses continued to run at the retreating Baggies defender and nearly grabbed a second goal moments later but for Forster sticking out a leg to deny him.

Incidentally, Moses had scored his first senior goal against The Baggies on March 12, 2008 while defending the colours of Crystal Palace.

It is also noteworthy that, during Monday’s match, Moses played four shots of which two were on target, a game-high along with Davide Zappacosta and Hazard.

This season, Moses has racked up seven shots on target, meaning he has averaged one goal for every 3.5 shots on target and, on Monday, he completed one dribble, made one key pass and won two fouls.

On the flip side, Moses, who has recorded 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, in 1,429 minutes, had a passing accuracy of 68.6 percent, the second worst of all Chelsea’s players, but Olivier Giroud had the lowest percentage of completed passes with 59.4 percent.

After the victory, Chelsea are now seated at the 4th position on the Premier League table with 53 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur who are fifth with 52 points.

The 27-year old star treated his ever-growing 349,000 Instagram followers to a picture of his backflip-goal celebration during the game which he left with a caption.

“Big win! Great character from the lads ???? nice to get another goal too ⚽???? #CFC,” Moses stated, while Fabregas wrote: “Loving my boy @victormoses when he finishes off my Assist! #finally.”
