Moses Set To Replace Pedro Against Liverpool

Date:

Chelsea winger, Victor Moses appears in line to step in for injured Spanish star, Pedro Rodriguez for The Blues’ Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Blues are set to tango the club they loaned Moses to in 2014, and he knows it would be a huge opportunity for him to make an impression on all fronts.

Heading into Wednesday’s fixture, footballlive.ng learnt that Moses is in line to step in for Pedro, who got a shoulder injury during Thursday’s Europa League clash with PAOK Saloniki of Greece.

Consequently, Moses is in contention to face his former club Liverpool, where he spent the whole of the 2013/14 season on loan outside Stamford Bridge.

Great expectations spread for Moses on Monday, when Pedro was not spotted training with the team at Cobham and is doubtful to travel with the squad to Merseyside.

Pedro has been Chelsea’s first choice right winger in the current season and when he is not available, manager Maurizio Sarri prefers Brazilian ace, Willian, but Moses could gain from the manager’s rotation policy for the midweek cracker.

Inevitably, everything is pointing in the direction that Moses will be in the 18 to face The Reds, as was the case last weekend away to West Ham United, as Sarri always names at least one winger on the bench.

Although Moses could replace Pedro in the League Cup, that might be his only big chance back in the main squad, as Chelsea’s club medics are doing everything possible to get the former Barcelona icon fit before they face Liverpool in the Premier League.
