Moses Simon and Ligue 1 club, Nantes secured a 3-1 victory over Jerome Akor’s Montpellier on Saturday at the Stade de la Mosson.
Both Nigerian forwards started for their respective teams.
The match began with Nantes taking the lead in the 24th minute through Matthis Abline, who was assisted by Tino Kadewere.
Montpellier quickly responded, and Jerome Akor scored his first goal of the season in the 30th minute, leveling the match at 1-1.
Nantes regained the lead just before halftime when Moses Simon converted a penalty, making it his second consecutive goal after scoring against Auxerre the previous weekend.
Moses Simon recently came back after an injury that prematurely ended his last season.
In the second half, Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed added a third goal for Nantes, once again assisted by Kadewere, sealing the win for the visitors.
While Simon celebrated the victory, Akor could take pride in opening his score sheet for the season in his second year with Montpellier.
