AA Gent of Belgium winger, Moses Simon has sent a thank you message to all Nigerians and his Super Eagles’ teammates, following his exclusion from the World Cup squad on account of injury.
Scans conducted in London on Thursday evening confirmed everyone’s worst fears about his availability for the finals in Russia, with the winger ruled out of action for a minimum of three weeks.
Shortly after receiving the medical report from the doctors, Moses Simon checked out of the Super Eagles Hilton London Wembley Hotel and headed to Belgium to lick his wounds.
Simon started four matches in the third round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, scoring once against Cameroon in Yaounde.
Simon was crestfallen after an injury ruled him out of the 2018 World Cup, but has sent a good luck message to his international teammates.
”I will like to thank all my fans for the love, support and prayers during this trying time, you all are amazing people it’s just a pity that I couldn’t make it to #Russia but man proposes but God disposes.
”I will definitely be back soon stronger and better. To #supereagles???????????? I wish u all d best of luck in Russia go and make us proud,” Simon stated.
Comment:Nigeria’s gaffer Hermit “Rohr ” meaning cane is good coach, but he did not do enough to bring Enyeama to this team.
The goalkeeping area is key to success to. any team. He is the last man of the defense. Francis Uzoho does not the experience to take the world in Russia. He is too shaky in set pieces and even open play. That he plays for Déportivo la Coruña as a third choice keeper does give him any edge over Ezenwa or Akpeyi.
I wish the Eagles a good outing in Russia.
The goalkeeping Department is still a serious suspect. Our goalkeepers are not up to the expected standard. Though we are moulding a team for the future. Also some of the so called big players, Mikel, Moses and Onazi need to up their game at the World Cup if Nigeria is going to make any impact at all. Their performance against England was just horrible and discouraging. Good luck in Russia.
