Fernenbahce of Turkey’s January signing, Victor Moses is set to get busy playing as a winger down both left and right flanks with the club, as The Yellow Canaries’ coach, Ersun Yanal says he wants to get the best out of the former Super Eagles star.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Moses, who is on loan from Chelsea in an 18-month deal at Fernebache, was deployed on the left wing in his last two games – against Göztepe and Kayserispor – but played on the right in his debut against Yeni Malatyaspor.
Though he should in the previous season at Chelsea that he can also hold his own as a right-wing-back, while having also played as an arrow head in his younger days at Crystal Palace, Yanal says he will use Moses only as a winger, where he believes the lad’s best strength lies.
Yanal is also considering giving the 28-year-old Moses a starting shirt in the squad, as the Istanbul-based club’s fans are already clamoring for more playing time for the lad, who can also feature as a playmaker.
Before Tuesday’s UEFA Europa League clash with Zenit Saint-Petersburg of Russia, The Yellow Canaries’ fans chanted for Moses to get a starting shirt, as they felt he could help them recover from a disappointing 1-0 loss away to Kayserispor last weekend in the Turkish Super Lig.
The fans’ argument was that all the other options up front are not in great form, but Moses had already shown in three matches as a sub what he is capable of, especially as he scored in only his second game with the squad he joined in January.
In reaction, the Canaries’ coach said: ”Moses is a very talented and important player.
“He has played almost every position. We are not thinking about using him outside his current position. We want to try him on both wings.”
