Coach Ibrahim Musa claims his Kano Pillars team ‘will be flying’ when they take on El Kanemi Warriors in the Nigeria Professional Football League week 25 on Wednesday 18th July.
The Kano-based club have resumed from the World Cup break, and Musa is hoping his men can get off to a flying run with a win against the Desert Warriors at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
“On Wednesday the team will be flying,” said the coach to Footballlive.ng.
“The players are preparing for this match with great excitement and I have every confidence we will win, although we must be realistic and know how to go about things.
“We don’t want to put pressure on ourselves but to take things slowly, step by step.”
Musa conceded he is not worried about the other teams in the league and is more concerned with how his own club performs.
“We are taking step by step in our remaining 14 matches in this competition and each game will be difficult. We need to compete and be at our best.”
However, he admitted that the main objective for Masu Gida still remains continental.
“We are aiming to pick one of the continental tickets for that’s where Pillars belong,” he explained.
