Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa is down with a knock, which ruled him out of action with his club against former Super Eagles striker, Joseph Akpala’s side, Al-Faisaly.
Footballlive.ng reports that, in Musa’s absence, his team could only eke out a 2-2 draw from the Saudi Pro-League fixture, which left Al-Nassr second on the table, with 34 points from 16 games.
Musa’s team, who stand two points below Al-Hilal Riyadh on the log, put aside their disappointment over the result to quickly roll out a rebuttal of reports that the Eagles’ assistant captain is angry with the officials.
This was sequel to pre-match reports that there was a financial dispute between the club and player, but their coach, Helder Cristovao stressed that Musa was not involved in the match because of injury.
It was later revealed that Musa was actually ready to play with injury but Al-Nassr’s doctor did not consent, after an X-ray revealed the extent of damage to the star, who hit four goals and assists in his first five ties.
However, since his early burst of top form on arrival in Saudi Arabia, the former Kano Pillars, VVV Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England attacker has just a goal in his last nine outings.
