CSKA Moscow of Russia attacker, Ahmed Musa has ruled out any special attention from the Super Eagles on Argentine star, Lionel Messi, when both sides clash next month at the World Cup.
With Nigeria and Argentina set to lock horns for the fifth time in a World Cup group game, Musa, who scored twice against the Argies in a 3-2 loss for the Super Eagles at Brazil 2014, says team work can help them shock the South Americans.
While pointing out that the Eagles would have to play as a team to carry the day on June 26 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Musa stressed that they must avoid any complexes that would see Messi get the edge.
“We are not playing Messi but Argentina, it’s all about team work, with or without Messi, and our focus is to perform better in the World Cup.
“We have to be looking at the quality of our players — and I believe we are going to Russia to do well — and not the quality of other countries’ players,’’ Musa submitted.
