Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa is keeping up his charge for the top goals scorer’s prize in the Middle East country’s top-flight league, with his fifth strike of the season added to the charts.
Just two days after returning to his base from national team duties, footballlive.ng reports that Musa struck the only goal for Al-Nassr’s 1-0 win against Al Shabab on Friday.
The former Kano Pillars, VV Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England star is now two behind Al-Hilal’s Bafétimbi Gomis and one short of Cristian Guanca of Al-Ettifaq in the race for the top scorer’s prize.
Musa, who also has three assists in nine appearances for his side, failed to score in the previous three matches before the game at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, Riyadh.
He finished off a move in which he started after going past three defenders, by curling the ball home in the 35th minute to also keep Al Nassr in contention for the title.
Musa’s side have won eight of ten games this season and lie second on the table with 25 points, two less than the Saudi Pro-League leaders, Al Hilal.
