Musa Thanks Eagles’ Coaches, Staff For AFCON Ticket

Date:

Al-Nasr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa has extended appreciation and gratitude to all members of the Super Eagles’ coaching crew and the backroom staff for making their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification possible, footballlive.ng reports.

While many fans keep praising the players for a job well done, Musa, who has captained the team for their past four matches, added that they also have to thank their coaches and officials.

The former Kano Pillars, VV Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England star acknowledged that it was a thing of joy to pick an early ticket to AFCON 2019, with a match to spare.

Musa added that he feels proud being part of the squad that has taken Nigeria back to the continental soccer showpiece, and hinted that all the players will make the best of the opportunity to shine next year.

He reasoned that Saturday’s draw in Johannesburg was huge to Nigeria’s target of getting back to the championship, and stressed that it would not have been possible without support from the fans, coaches and officials.

“It was a thing of joy to qualify with a game in hand, the way we did when we qualified for 2018 World Cup.

“We are proud of our coaches and the back room staff for their efforts to make it happen for us.

“We needed the point in Johannesburg to qualify with a game in hand after we had lost out on the two tournaments.
“We are happy we are back to a tournament Nigeria are very familiar with,” Musa enthused.
